Highlights from The Montclairion
April President's Page
Submitted by Courtney Larson on April 2, 2007 - 3:09pm"Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. "

I am writing this in advance of knowing the outcome of the Annual Meeting which will have occurred on March 24, 2007 at the Montclair Country Club. Although I do not know the outcome, I am very pleased to see the voting responses that have already been received. For the first time since doing away with the proxy system, we achieved quorum weeks in advance of the annual meeting. Quorum this year was set at 863. Ten days before the annual meeting we had already received over 1050 votes. Two-thirds of these votes were submitted through the US mail with the remaining one-third via the Internet. I am pleased with this result and believe that the Board's experiment to include the Internet voting option was successful.
Covenants Corner: Mow Your Lawn!
Submitted by Courtney Larson on April 2, 2007 - 3:05pmThere's no hiding an uncared for landscape... PEOPLE NOTICE! A well-cared for landscape can be the mark of success, and we'd like to see Montclair homeowners achieve that success. Please do not allow your yard to become the overgrown and unsightly one that PEOPLE NOTICE.
The items listed below are pre-approved; however, you must submit a Property Improvement Request (online at www.montclairva.com) for anything above and beyond what is listed.

April Community Events
Submitted by Courtney Larson on April 2, 2007 - 2:49pmThe Community Events Committee would like to recognize two long standing members, Nick and Karen Credgington, who recently decided to step down from the committee. Their input for Montclair events has been invaluable, and on behalf of the entire committee, we would like to thank Karen and Nick for their countless time and effort over the four plus years they have served on the committee.
Along with spring, Montclair's event season is in full bloom! The Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 7th. Thank you to all the volunteers who responded after last month's Montclairion article. Don't forget to bring your own egg basket or bag. Also, beach tags are mandatory and may be obtained, with proper ID, during normal business hours at the MPOA office.
Next on the list is Beautification Day, scheduled for May 19, 2007 at Dolphin Beach. For more information please contact Donna McCarter at donnaburke57@comcast.net. Montclair Day is also getting up in gear, and we need as many volunteers as possible for this event. This year we will be having more games, so hands-on help is greatly needed for the day of the event. Please contact Kati Mangrio at katica1367@hotmail.com to find out how you can help. I look forward to seeing you at all of Montclair's upcoming events and hope you enjoy the increasing warm weather!
