Covenant's Corner
The Covenants Department is starting off Great in 2008!
I would like to thank all of the property owners who continue to make Montclair a great looking community. To all those golfers out there, you will be pleased to know that we started the process of inspecting all properties visible from the golf course in January, and hope to be finished by the end of this month. Thanks to the Montclair Country Club for providing us with golf carts, we should move quickly through these inspections.
General Reminders
- In the event of snow, please clear a drivable path accessible to the mail carrier for delivery of mail.
- All holiday decorations should be removed by now.
- Annual Precinct Inspections (the inspection of all properties in Montclair) are scheduled to begin in March. You will continue to see Covenants Staff and Committee Members on or around your property.
- Property Improvement Compliance, Disclosure and follow-up inspections are done through out the entire year.
Patience Please!
There are some properties in Montclair that we are experiencing difficulty with regards to compliance with MPOA Guidelines. These properties are vacant, due to foreclosure, or the fact that the owner(s) had to leave the area prior to the sale of the home. The Enforcement procedures are being followed. We are working continuously with our Attorneys and with Prince William County to bring these properties into compliance. This process can take several months. If one of these properties happens to be next to you or on your street, I realize how frustrated you must be. Please be patient with us and know that we are working diligently to get the responsible parties to address issues regarding the appearance and upkeep of these homes. On the up side, we are seeing compliance when the violations are noted on the requested Disclosure Packets.
