What Happened in January?

To view the January Board Briefs, see page 9. For additional information on all items, members can now download the Public Board Package online through ArmstrongConnect.  If you’re not signed up, now is the time to do so. Members who sign-up and activate their account by February 29, 2008 will be eligible for a drawing on March 3, 2008 to win a $100 gift certificate to the Sakura Japanese Steak House.

At the January 9, 2008 Board of Directors meeting, the Board approved the 2008 Annual Meeting Packet and Annual Meeting Agenda which will be mailed to all Members of record on February 12, 2008.

January 15 was the cutoff date for submission of candidate petitions for the Board of Directors. The four members who submitted petitions for the four seats are: Chris Casey, Brad Hancock, Tracy Hansen and Doug Taggart.

Important Information

Using the Correct Zip Code
Due to space constraints at the Dumfries Post Office, carriers for the Montclair area have been relocated to a separate building.  For this reason, it is imperative that residents use the correct 22025 zip code.  Mail sent to Montclair addresses with the 22026 zip code will be returned to sender.

Election of Directors and Budget Approval
Remember, if your account is not current on February 11, 2008 you will not be able to vote for the candidates, on the budget, or the opinion survey; and you may not be able to pay your FY 2009 assessment in monthly installments.

Armstrong Management Annual Awards
Each year Armstrong Management presents Team Achievement Awards to staff members who excel as individuals yet promote the team concept and make the effort to go the extra mile. Courtney Larson (MPOA Communications Director) and Maryanne Toal (MPOA Events Director) were selected from over 200 employees to be recipients of the award.

Wildlife Management
MPOA plans to perform egg addling this year and we need your help.  It would be very useful to know when the geese are on Lake Montclair, where they most often frequent, and how many are usually there.  By answering these questions, it will make it possible to be more efficient and cost effective.  Please call, fax or e-mail us your ‘wildlife log’ to gm@montclairva.com by February 12.  We are also looking for volunteers to assist in this program.
