Beach Rules & Reminders

General Information
• MPOA maintains and operates three beaches on Lake Montclair—Dolphin Beach (off Dolphin Drive), West Beach (off Spalding Drive), and Beaver Landing (off Silvan Glen Drive).
• The beaches open for the summer season Memorial Day weekend (Saturday May 24, 2008) and close Labor Day weekend (Monday September 1, 2008).
• Beaches are open from 6:00 a.m. to dusk daily, and are guarded by lifeguards from 11:00 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. during the summer season. Anyone found on the beaches after dusk may be subject to arrest for trespassing.
• The Beaches may close because of weather, emergency situations, or other extenuating circumstances.
• Pets are not allowed at any MPOA recreation facility.
• Feeding of the geese at any of the three beaches is prohibited.

Swimming
• Swimming at the beaches is restricted to within the roped-in areas.
• Swimming without lifeguards on duty is at the risk of the individual swimmer.
• Swimming and diving is prohibited at all times from all platforms, boardwalks and docks at all the beaches.

Recreation Tags
• Residents must display valid MPOA recreation tags in order to access the beaches. There are two types of tags: unrestricted (for residents ages 12 and older) and restricted (for residents ages nine to 11).
• Children eleven years and younger are permitted to use the Montclair beaches only with a person 16 years of age or older.
• With the exemption of Montclair Community Events (Montclair Day, Fourth of July, Oktoberfest, etc.), persons displaying a valid unrestricted Montclair recreation tag may be accompanied by up to four guests. During Community Events, a maximum of two guests per unrestricted recreation tag are allowed. In all cases, guests are the responsibility of the sponsor.

Beach Reservations
• Dates available for reservation fall between May 27, 2008 and August 29, 2008. Holiday weekends, Fourth of July and Montclair Day (June 7, 2008) will not be available for reservation.
• Reservations are issued on a first-come, first-served basis to those who have provided all the information required by the Community Guidelines for reserving recreation facilities:
• Homeowners must be in good standing,
• Residents must show proof of current homeowners’ liability insurance or renters’ liability insurance/proof of residence, and
• Residents must show proof of 2008-2009 MPOA recreation tag.
