Community Events Committee Update

As always, December was a busy month not only with family celebrations but also in terms of community events.  On December 6th our fellow Montclair senior residents enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Giorgio's Family Restaurant. The food was great and the Platinum Vocal Jazz Choir of Forest Park High School put on a beautiful show. Thank you all for coming and making this event so special.

The children of Montclair must have been good all year round because on December 16th Santa and the Elf came to visit them on an awesome fire truck. Keep up the good work kids, so that they keep coming back! The caroling on Dolphin beach was very atmospheric too with a nice bonfire to keep the crowd warm on that beautiful winter evening.

Looking forward, the next community wide event is the Easter Egg Hunt.  However, in the meantime please read the Montclairion for information about upcoming events and meetings. Also if you have new ideas for events and you would like to be creative, please feel free to join the event committee.

Before you go on to enjoy the pictures from our December events, let me wish you all a very happy and successful New Year.

Hello, Montclair! I would like to introduce myself; I am Maryanne Toal, the new Events Director for Montclair Property Owners Association.  I recently graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Event Management, and I formerly worked for the City of Manassas as their Event Coordinator.  Within the Centreville community, I have worked planning their annual fall event for two years.  During my three years in the City of Manassas, I planned events for crowds up to 50,000.  At Santa's Ride through Montclair, I was my introduced to the community and was greeted by all the happy and excited faces of the Montclair children.  The streets were lined with eager faces to see Santa, and several were carrying Santa hats ready to collect yummy candy.  Santa also made a special appearance at Dolphin Beach to sing Christmas carols by the fire with the Montclair families.  I am a native Tennessean, but have enjoyed residing in Virginia for the last five years. Currently, I live in Centreville, Virginia.  I have only been with MPOA since November, but I am so excited to be in this beautiful and friendly community...I love it more and more each day!
