MPOA Introduces New Approach to Community Patrol

On January 9, 2007, the Montclair Property Owners Association placed on contract a professional security services company, Eagle Protection Services, Inc. of Manassas, Virginia.

For the next four months, two uniformed Eagle Protection security officers (see attached picture below) will be on duty seven days a week during an eight-hour period beginning in the late afternoon until early morning hours. These officers will be making random tours of the entire community and will be available to receive and respond to calls from the previous community patrol number 703-878-SAFE while on-duty. During off-duty hours, a call to the community patrol number, 703-878-SAFE, will direct you to leave a voice mail message for patrol follow-up.

The two patrol vehicles assigned to Montclair are silver Hyundai sedans (see attached pictures below). The vehicles are marked with the Eagle Protection Services, Inc. logo, and the words ‘Security Patrol,' on the doors. To speak directly to a MPOA patrol officer residents should call the 703-878-SAFE number. A call placed to the number on the Patrol Vehicles (703-530-0800) is route through the Eagle Protective Services headquarters dispatcher (not located in Montclair). If you call this number, someone from Eagle Protection Services will take your message and pass it on to a patrol officer who will call you back.

In addition to conducting roving tours, the officers are available to perform house checks. House-checks must be pre-arranged. Please call the MPOA office at 703-670-6187 during normal business hours to schedule one for your property.

This four month service is being conducted as a demonstration of the continued service as it will be purposed as part of the FY2008 Budget.

All other community-related questions should be directed to the MPOA office at 703/670-6187 during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday). During non-business hours, you may leave a voice mail message for any staff member. You can also find a complete listing of staff and board e-mail addresses on the MPOA website at www.montclairva.com (select the MPOA icon on the left side of the homepage).

Residents are reminded that ANY and ALL emergency situations should be directed only to the 911 service.

If you have questions on this service please contact Jennifer Hughes, Assistant General Manager, at 703-670-6187.
