Recapping the June Board of Directors Meeting:

THE MONTCLAIR COUNTRY CLUB- A motion to authorize the MPOA President to enter into discussions with Golf Property Analysts concerning the purchase of the Montclair Country Club was denied.

RESERVING THE MPOA CONFERENCE ROOM-The Board requested that the Landscape and Facilities Management Committee prepare recommendations for Board considerations at the July meeting.

BUDGET WORKSHOP-The Board scheduled a Budget Workshop Session to be held July 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the MPOA building.

CHANGES TO THE COMMUNITY GUIDELINES-The Board approved, pending legal review, changes to Community Guidelines Article 4, Policies regarding Recreation Facilities.

FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION-The Board approved the Montclair Lions to provide food service at the annual Fourth of July Celebration at Dolphin Beach.

HENDERSON SCHOOL CROSSING-The Board directed staff, the Safety Committee and LFMC to work with VDOT and Prince William County Schools on a request to expand the Henderson Elementary School crossing zone and return to the Board with recommendations in July.

LAKE DREDGING RFP APPROVED-The Board approved the Lake Dredging RFP recommend by the Lake Management Committee with modifications coordinated through the Armstrong General Manager.

MPOA OFFICIAL WEBSITE-The Board directed staff to work with the Montclair Publications Advisory Committee and Communications Committee and return to the Board in August with specific amendments to the Community Guidelines to implement a proposed website link policy after attorney review.

ALCOHOL AT PRIVATE FUNCTIONS-The Board denied any pending requests for alcohol-related functions within the RPC common property with the exception of MPOA-sponsored community events pending modification of the Community Guidelines.

BEACH RULES & REMINDERS

Pets are NOT ALLOWED at MPOA recreation facilities with the exception of guide dogs for the blind, pets crossing an area and being walked by a person displaying a valid MPOA recreation tag, or pets that are leashed and placed immediately aboard boats launched at West Beach only. AT NO TIME ARE PETS ALLOWED ON THE SAND AREAS OF THE BEACHES.

Swimming off of the board walks or docks at all beach recreation areas is prohibited at all times. Diving is prohibited at all times from all platforms, boardwalks, and docks at all beaches.
