Trash Collection Recycling Reminder

A brief reminder that American Disposal will now collect recycling on Monday mornings moving forward on Monday, May 1 2017. All other trash collection days will remain the same. Shop till you drop

Indulge in a bit of spring cleaning…and make a small profit. Join in the Spring Community Yard Sale, taking place May 6 and May 7, 2017. Get together with a group of you closest neighbors and host a street-wide sale. Interested in a little shopping? Gather your friends and family to find new-to-you treasures. You never know what you’ll turn up! This will be the only community-wide yard sale until fall, so make sure to jump on this opportunity and participate with your friends and family!

New Guidelines to go into effect May 1, 2017

As Approved at the March 8, 2017 Board of Directors Meeting; Amendments to Community Guidelines Article 5, Section 5.4.10 Doors, Entry/Storm and Garage For Nob Hill Forest Townhomes: Exterior doors may not deviate from the original solid door style and door color. Only full view glass storm doors or full view storm doors with one small dividing bar through the middle are permitted. Storm door color must be in white or the dominant color of the house. The following text has been removed from the guidelines: All changes which differ from the original door style require advance PIR approval of the MPOA and Townhome Association.

Lantern Launch at Dolphin Beach

Honor our brave men and women in uniform on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Dolphin Beach for the annual Montclair Lantern Launch. Pay homage to someone who has served, or who is currently serving by launching a lantern from Dolphin Beach onto Lake Montclair. Residents are more than welcome to retrieve their lantern before the event (lanterns are now available at the MPOA office for pick up), or the day of the Event. We hope you’ll join us for a beautiful evening where we honor the courage and valor of our military.

Beach Reservations are opened for business

Summertime is here and the beach is officially opened for reservations starting today, April 27, 2017 for residents holding casual events. Remember, residents must provide an updated copy of their declarations page for their homeowners/tenant’s insurance policy and must make reservations four business days prior to the event. In addition to this, all residents are required to come to the office in person to make their reservation. Recycling Day Announcement

Starting May 1, 2017, American Disposal will be changing its recycling collection day from Thursdays to Mondays. All residents should make sure that their recycling in addition to their regular trash disposal is outside on Sunday nights in preparation for collection. No other changes will be made at this time. Please direct all questions to American Disposal at (703) 368-0500.

The Henderson Fun Run is here!

The Henderson Huskies are working hard to keep healthy and fit. That’s why Henderson Elementary School will be holding their Annual 5k Fun Run on Sunday, June 4, 2017. The Huskies will run through Dolphin Drive, across the Dolphin Beach Parking lot, over the Lake Montclair Dam, and through the walkway onto Golf Club Drive. This event is expected to be held between 6:30 am-7:30 am. Let’s all do our best to wish the huskies luck and to ensure that they have a safe and fun marathon. Good luck Henderson!

This year, Montclair day takes us down to the racetrack for a Day at the Races on June 3, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Put on your derby best and head down to Dolphin Beach for a day of food, games and entertainment. Enjoy the sounds of the Grassland Bluegrass Band and the Mutual Fun Band. Or, take a spin at a few games, try the water slide, and enter the derby hat contest. Volunteers are always needed! Interested residents may sign up here!

Summer Help Still Wanted!

Earth Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow, April 22, 2017, Montclair will hold Earth Day. Start the day off with a challenge by participating in the 5th annual Fishing Tournament. Or, head over to the MPOA office for a continental breakfast of coffee and assorted pastries. Get ready to swim, run and bike your way into summer. The Montclair Triathlon is just around the corner, set to take place on June 18, 2017. Challenge yourself with a 750 meter swim, and then a 12 mile ride on your bike. Finish the race strong by completing a 3.1 mile run across the Lake Montclair Dam. Do we have your interest yet? Join the Community Events Committee!

Want to join the team dedicated to fun and events? Then the Community Events Committee wants you! Collaborate with your neighbors to plan and run Montclair Day, Fourth of July, Oktoberfest, and much more. These events define our wonderful community, but we can’t pull them off without a dedicated group of volunteers willing to work a little Montclair magic.
