Oktoberfest is here!

Don’t forget to join us at the Southlake Recreation Center for Oktoberfest 2017 tomorrow, September 30 at 3:00 p.m. Eat, drink and be merry with your friends and neighbors. Play harvest games, enjoy traditional German music, and welcome the Fall with Montclair’s last big event of the 2017 season. Parking will be available at the Forest Park High School parking lot. Click here for more information on times and activities. Recreation Photo IDs with updated 2017 stickers are required for this event. Only two guests per pass will be permitted.

Attention Montclair Veterans

This November, the Montclairion would love to honor our veterans. All residents are welcomed to submit the name, branch of service, rank, years served and photo of a Montclair veteran they wish to recognize. Please send all information to communications@montclairva.com on or before October 5 to ensure that you make the deadline!

Friendly election reminders

Election season is almost here. Though we understand that Montclairions are active and informed citizens, we ask that all residents observe the guideline concerning political signs in our community. Article 5, Section 5.4.41 (h): “Political campaign signs are not permitted.” Please reach out to the MPOA at (703) 670-6187 with any concerns. Thank you in advance for your cooperation! Fall Community Yard Sale

Fall into great savings. Come out with your friends and neighbors on October 7-October 8 to host a street-wide yard sale, or to go treasuring hunting for a few gems of your own. This will be the only yard sale until spring, so encourage your neighbors to participate!

Boat and Dock/Shoreline Improvement Registration

Starting October 1, the MPOA will begin accepting applications for boat registration and dock and shoreline improvement permits. Forms for boat registration are available here and forms for dock permit and shoreline improvement registration may be located here. Please contact the MPOA at (703) 670-6187 with any questions. Boat Registration All residents who own a boat must register it with the MPOA in order to use it on Lake Montclair. Boats that are stored at home may be registered with no charge. Prepare to Polka: Oktoberfest

Get ready for some fall fun. This year, Oktoberfest takes place on Saturday, September 30 at a brand-new venue, the Southlake Recreation Center! Enjoy a day filled with traditional German music, great food, harvest games and, of course, drinks. The fun begins at 3 p.m. with the tunes of authentic German band Die Kleine Kapelle to get you in the Oktoberfest mood. Sample food from our various food trucks, and try your luck at the Gemutlichkeit Games. Training at West Beach

Please be aware that today, September 12, the Fire Department will be conducting a training session at West Beach at 8:00 a.m. until noon. Personnel will be on the lake for the training. Please call the MPOA at (703) 670-6187 with any questions or concerns.

Routine Maintenance on Moncure Court

Please be aware that Prince William County will be performing routine maintenance on the sewage lines near Moncure Court. If you live on Moncure Court or on one of the neighboring streets, you may experience minor construction beginning this Thursday, September 14. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to the MPOA at (703) 670-6187.

Oktoberfest is one of Montclair’s most treasured traditions, and we cannot pull it off without the help of our wonderful volunteers.
