Starting January 1, 2018, changes to the following guidelines will go into effect, Amendments to Community Guidelines Article 4, Section 4.1.2 Recreation Photo IDs (to become effective April 1, 2018) Amendments to Community Guidelines Article 5, Section 5.4 Architectural Guidelines General Amendments to Community Guidelines Article 5, Section 5.4.24 Landscaping Amendments to Community Guidelines Article 5, Section 5.4.47 Tree Removal Amendments to Community Guidelines Article 5, Section(s) 5.4.6 Decks; 5.4.8 Docks, Piers, and Wharves; 5.4.13 Fences (references lake front fences); 5.4.19 Gardens (to include Vegetable Gardens); 5.4.20 Gazebos; 5.4.24 Landscaping; 5.4.27 Major Alterations; 5.4.

Office Closure – January 1 2018

Please be aware that the MPOA office will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2018, in observance of the New Year. During this time, phone calls and emails will not be monitored but will be attended to promptly once normal business hours resume on Tuesday, January 2 at 8:30 a.m.

Holiday Home Decorating Contest Fan Favorite Winner!

The final vote is in! Congratulations to 15301 Edgehill Drive, our Fan Favorite for the 2017 Holiday Home Decorating Contest. Thank you to everyone who decorated their home for the holidays this season. Each and every one of you pulled together a dazzling display that captured the holiday spirit in Montclair. We can't wait to see what you do next year!

Trash Service Reminders

Please note that this year, Christmas and New Year’s both fall on a Monday. Therefore, trash and recycling will not be collected on these days. Recycling collection make up day will be on Saturday, December 30. Please call American Disposal at (703) 368-0500 with any questions or concerns.

Call for Candidates – Deadline January 9

The deadline for Call for Candidates is approaching fast. If you are interested in running for the Board of Directors, then make sure your submission is turned in on or before Thursday, January 9 at 5:00 p.m. Remember, all four precinct representatives are up for election this year!

Last day to vote for Holiday Home favorite

Don’t forget that today, December 26, is the last day to vote for your favorite home in the Holiday Home Decorating contest. Visit the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/montclairva/ to cast your vote. A like on each picture equals one vote! The contest will end at 5:00 p.m. tonight, so cast your vote as soon as possible!

MPOA Office Closure – December 25

The MPOA office will be closed on Monday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Phone calls and emails will not be monitored out of office during this time. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, December 26 at 8:30 a.m. We at the MPOA wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!

Plant removal along Waterway

Please note that as of this morning, MPOA will be trimming or cutting back plants near the streets listed below in order to comply with VDOT sightline rules, -Montview -Edgehill Additionally, bushes will be removed near the following streets, -Edgewood -Cliffview The MPOA would like to give residents the opportunity to claim the removed bushes if they would like. Bushes will be available at the MPOA office on a first come first serve basis. Please call (703) 670-6187 with any questions or concerns.

Don’t forget, tomorrow is the last day to nominate yourself or a neighbor for the annual holiday home decorating contest. This year, the Garden Club of Montclair will pick winning homes in the following categories, -Overall Favorite -Yuletide Tradition -Winter Whimsy -High Wattage Holiday Judging will occur on December 18 or 19, so make sure that you have your display prepared for those nights. You can vote for your favorite too! Starting December 20, visit the Montclair Facebook group at facebook.com/groups/montclairpoa to cast your vote for your favorite house. Call for Candidates

Have you ever wanted to make a difference in your community? Then now is your chance. Montclair’s Annual Meeting will be here before we know it, and the four precinct representative seats are up for election. If you have ever considered running for the Board before, then maybe now is the time to throw your hat into the ring. Interested in running yet? Forms may be accessed online here, or in person at the MPOA office. Please submit all forms no later than Thursday, January 9 at 5:00 p.m. Submissions may be made in person at the MPOA office, or emailed to communications@montclairva.com.

Saturday with Santa Update

Santa's ride will start this morning at 9:00 a.m. as scheduled. In the event of severe weather, the event will be canceled for safety reasons. Please monitor the Montclair Facebook page and the official Montclair website for updates.

Saturday with Santa - UPDATE

The MPOA continues to monitor the forecast, and a decision will be made tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. whether Santa’s Ride will be held. Shortly thereafter, we will post that decision here. We still intend to hold Santa’s Visit at the Southlake Recreation Center at 3:30 p.m. Should weather affect our ability to hold that event, notice will also be posted here. Saturday with Santa – December 9

Santa Claus is coming to town! Join us tomorrow for Saturday with Santa as Kris Kringle parades through Montclair on his big red fire truck with his elf helpers. Santa will be distributing candy to all the children of Montclair at designated Santa Stops. Then, after a short break, come down to the Southlake Recreation Center for Santa’s visit. Eat delicious cookies and sweets, participate in holiday themed activities, and take pictures with Santa Claus himself. Don’t forget to bring your updated Recreation Photo IDs for entrance to the event. Only two guests per pass will be permitted. Volunteers are still needed, click here to sign up! Toys for Tots – Last day tomorrow, December 8!

Don’t forget, tomorrow, December 8, is the last day for Toys for Tots. Make sure to drop off any donations at the MPOA office by 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Please ensure that all donations are new, unwrapped toys.
