Lake Clean Up

Today’s lake clean-up effort was a great success! With the help of our volunteers, we were able to remove 23 bags of trash from West Beach and surrounding areas and did so in just 2 hours! While there is still a lot to collect, it was in areas that were not accessible or safe to traverse. As such, we will be back at West Beach next Tuesday, July 3rd at 8am in hopes that the impending hot, dry weather solidifies the exposed lake bed more to allow for access to those areas. Come join us in cleaning up the lake. We would like to thank the 17 volunteers that joined the MPOA Maintenance staff this morning at West Beach to assist in the collection of trash from the lake. Lake Montclair Clean Up Effort

The Spillway Alteration project continues to move along as planned with no significant delays thus far. The work on the sewer pipe that runs through the project has been completed and approved by the Prince William County Service Authority. Approximately 100’ of the wall has had footers poured, and concrete forms are being installed currently to pour a section of the wall itself towards the end of this week. As that section of the wall is completed, the contractor will move to the next section, which should progress faster than the first section as they will not

If you’ve been around Northgate, you’ve probably noticed a few changes to Hockersmith Park. This little-known Montclair gem was the first park established in our community. For generations, it has provided a place for families to picnic, youngsters to play basketball, and (more recently) for fitness gurus to get their exercise fix. Now, the LFMC is hard at work to make even more improvements. Why not check it out now? Who knows. Hockersmith might just become your new favorite hangout!
