Don’t forget to join us at the Southlake Recreation Center for Oktoberfest 2017 tomorrow, September 30 at 3:00 p.m. Eat, drink and be merry with your friends and neighbors. Play harvest games, enjoy traditional German music, and welcome the Fall with Montclair’s last big event of the 2017 season. Parking will be available at the Forest Park High School parking lot. Get ready for some fall fun. This year, Oktoberfest takes place on Saturday, September 30 at a brand-new venue, the Southlake Recreation Center! Enjoy a day filled with traditional German music, great food, harvest games and, of course, drinks. The fun begins at 3 p.m. with the tunes of authentic German band Die Kleine Kapelle to get you in the Oktoberfest mood. Sample food from our various food trucks, and try your luck at the Gemutlichkeit Games. Let the youngsters have a turn on the bounce house while you relax with a cold, adult beverage as the day winds down with The Excellent Drivers. A full schedule of events is below! Oktoberfest is one of Montclair’s most treasured traditions, and we cannot pull it off without the help of our wonderful volunteers. As such a large-scale event, it is vital that we reach maximum volunteer capacity. With a new venue at the Southlake Recreation Center, it is particularly important that we have enough help to ensure that Oktoberfest runs smoothly. Adults can enjoy a variety of fall beers while our youngest visitors can take a turn in the bounce house. Volunteers are always in high demand. Attention residents, Montclair needs YOU to help us pull off Oktoberfest! Oktoberfest is one of the biggest events in our community, and we need the help of our magnificent volunteers. Volunteering at our events is a wonderful way to get involved in the community, connect with your neighbors, and for students to earn volunteer credits for school! This year, Oktoberfest is on Saturday, September 30, and though it seems a long way off, it is just around the corner. While we will have food trucks this year due to the change in venue, there are still plenty of fun volunteer opportunities throughout the day!
