Lighting Demonstration – 9/28

The LFMC will be conducting a demonstration of the new lighting system at Dolphin Beach on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 7:30 pm.

Events

Summer Movie Night – 9/19 (Rain Date 9/26)

Summer Movie Night showing of Dolittle will be held at Dolphin Beach on Saturday, September 19, 2020, beginning at sunset. Please bring your own lawn chairs, snacks, and drinks. Alcoholic beverages, portable grills, and glass containers are prohibited.

For the safety of all attendees, social distancing measures (6 feet apart) must be observed during the entire event, except by members of the same household. All residents must present a 2020 Recreation photo ID to enter the Summer Movie Night event. The beach will close at the end of the movie.

Beer on the Beach – 10/2 Beer on the Beach is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2020, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Dolphin Beach. For the safety of all attendees, please follow social distancing measures for this event;

  • In preparation Dolphin Beach will close at 6:30 pm

  • No more than 250 participants will be allowed at Dolphin Beach

  • Social distancing practices (6 ft. apart) must be observed during the entire event

Recommended for ages 21 and up. Personal grills are not permitted. GLASS BOTTLES ARE NOT ALLOWED. Coolers will be checked before entry. All residents must present a valid 2020 Recreation Photo ID to enter this event. Beaches will close at 9:00 pm and the parking lot gates will close at 9:15 pm. Vehicles left in the parking lot can be retrieved the following morning at 7:30 am when the gate reopens.

Community Yard Sale – 10/3 & 10/4 Host a street-wide sale or get together with your family to hunt for new-to-you treasures found right in your neighborhood. Get the kids involved and encourage your neighbors to participate - the more, the merrier!

Military Veterans

We still would love to see those pictures of your military servicemen and servicewomen for a special Veterans Day tribute in the November Montclairion. Please include name, rank, military branch, and dates of service. Photos should be submitted by October 5th to communications@montclairva.com.

Lake Lowering – 11/1

Starting on November 1, 2020, the lake will be gradually lowered over the course of a few days by three feet in order to prepare for winter cleaning of the dam and docks along with end of season inspections as may be needed. This lowering also provides an opportunity for lake front owners to inspect/repair/perform maintenance to their docks. The level will be remain lowered for 7 days and then be allowed to return to its normal level.

Please remember to submit a PIR for dock repairs, if required. Please view Community Guideline 5.4.8 Docks, Piers and Wharves. In addition, please make sure if you are a lake front owner that you take the necessary precautions to secure your personal property.

To ensure you receive a test, please arrive at the site as close as possible to the start time and ensure you are in line by the time posted below. Testing is only available until the allocated test kits are depleted at each site.
