American Disposal Services provides the community's waste removal services. Trash and recycling services are not included with the assessment, and an account must be set up by contacting American at (703) 368-0500. Trash and recycling containers should be placed at curbside no earlier than dusk the day prior to pickup and removed prior to the following day.
Normal Refuse - Thursdays, 6 a.m.-5 p.m.

Yard Waste - Wednesdays limit 10 bags
  • Grass clippings and leaves need to be placed in brown paper bags.  Personal cans may be used; however, they need to be marked "Yard Debris".

  • Tree limbs and brush must be no longer than 4-5 feet in length and 3 inches thick in diameter.  These items must be tied with rope or twine in arm-length bundles.  Bundles are not to exceed 50 pounds.  

  • Rocks, sod, and dirt are not acceptable.  We will collect up to 10 bags and/or labeled personal cans and up to 10 bundles of brush per collection.

These compostable paper bags can be purchased online,  you can buy them at the grocery store, or find them at warehouse stores such as Home Depot, Lowes, or any garden Centers.  We will not collect material in plastic bags.

Thursdays - No charge for furniture and other large, non-metal household items or ferrous metal/white good items, such as appliances, but CFCs (Freon) must be removed from appliances and tagged appropriately.

Mondays - One (1) ADS recycling cart can be used per pickup.  ADS will no longer collect extra bags or cardboard boxes sitting outside the cart.  Please make sure to flatten or cut up all cardboard boxes. Newspapers, cans, glass, tin, aluminum, plastic bottles and jugs (#1-#7). No used oil, rocks, sod, tires, wet paint, or hazardous waste.

Additional Carts:  
For those who have a 64-gallon ADS cart, they can be upgraded to 96-gallon ADS carts at no additional charge.  Please email ADS at

Materials left outside the container will be considered extra material and will require an extra pickup to be provided to your home.  To schedule this service, please contact ADS Customer Service Department at 703-368-0500.

Residents must take used motor oil to a service station or the County Landfill for recycling. Residents must take hazardous waste to the County Landfill on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for collection and disposal. For additional information on hazardous waste disposal, contact the County Landfill at (703) 792-5750.

Recyclable Bins/Carts: American Disposal initially issues recycling bins for free. A 64-gallon recycling cart will be delivered at no charge upon request.  Replacement Fee: Bins - $10, Carts - $75
Trash Toter Insurance: American Disposal offers trash toter insurance for $1 per month. If your trash toter is lost, missing, or stolen and you have trash toter insurance, American Disposal will deliver a replacement toter at no additional charge.
Trash Toter Rental: $2.50 per unit per month ($7.50 per quarter) for 95-gallon toter; $75 toter replacement fee.
