Lake Reminders

Dear Montclair Residents,

In light of the recent rescue effort involving a dog on the ice, as well as reports of people walking on the ice, we would like to remind you of how critical it is that you do not walk out on the ice in Lake Montclair. By engaging in this potentially life-threatening behavior, you are putting yourself at significant risk, as well as those who may have to rescue you. Please be conscious of your children and pets as well to ensure they do not walk on the ice.

If your pet does wander on to the ice, please do not attempt to rescue the animal yourself. Call 911 immediately. They have personnel that are specially trained in ice rescue techniques. Below is a link to the Prince William County website with Ice Safety tips. Please take a moment to review it.

We also ask that if you witness someone on the ice, please call 911 immediately. While we appreciate being notified about such activity, please call 911 first to report this extremely dangerous and potentially life-threatening behavior.
