9/11 Memoriam – Observance Video PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY GOVERNMENT – On September 11, 2001, the country changed forever. Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives when terrorists attacked the nation. Across Prince William County, 22 residents lost their lives, more than any other region in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.

Typically, in recent years since that fateful day 19 years ago, Prince William County Government has hosted an in-person memorial observance. However, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the desire to ensure everyone’s health and wellbeing, this year the County is releasing a memorial video.

Please visit the County website or any of the social media platforms on September 11 to view the video.

Events

Lantern Launch - 9/12

Bring your decorated Lanterns to Dolphin Beach on Saturday, September 12 from 7:30pm-9:00pm to launch your lantern in support of your military loved ones!

Lanterns are still available for pick-up at the MPOA Office until 5pm on Friday, September 11, 2020.

Due to social distancing guidelines, we will not have lanterns available to decorate during the event.

Summer Movie Night – 9/19 (Rain Date 9/26)

Summer Movie Night showing of Dolittle will be held at Dolphin Beach on Saturday, September 19, 2020, beginning at sunset. Please bring your own lawn chairs, snacks, and drinks. Alcoholic beverages, portable grills, and glass containers are prohibited.

For the safety of all attendees, social distancing measures (6 feet apart) must be observed during the entire event, except by members of the same household. All residents must present a 2020 Recreation photo ID to enter the Summer Movie Night event. The beach will close at the end of the movie.

Photos

Back to School Pictures

Please don’t forget to send pictures of your little ones or big ones back to school photos! Please send them to communications@montclairva.com, by September 14th.

Military Veterans

We still would love to see those pictures of your military servicemen and servicewomen for a special Veterans Day tribute in the November Montclairion. Please include name, rank, military branch, and dates of service. Photos should be submitted by October 5th to communications@montclairva.com.

Lake Lowering – 11/1

Lake Montclair will be lowered by 3 feet on or about November 1, 2020, for the Annual Maintenance opportunity. During this week, the MPOA and LMC would like for all Lakefront owners to take this time to clean up your shoreline of trash and debris and make the necessary repairs and maintenance to your docks. Please remember to submit a PIR for dock repairs, if required. Please view Community Guideline 5.4.8 Docks, Piers and Wharves.

This process will take approximately one week to reach this level. Please make sure if you are a lake front owner that you take the necessary precautions to secure your personal property.
