Community Update – 12-7-2020


Incident on the Lake On Saturday afternoon, November 28th, an injured Blue Heron was noticed by a home off of Clearwater Ct. Unable to fly, a wildlife rescue organization was called to take the bird and provide the needed care. Unfortunately, upon examining the bird it was discovered that the bird suffered a bullet wound through the wing and had to be euthanized. We are working with local & state authorities from Prince William County Police Department and VA Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.

Santa Ride – 12/12 (9am – 1pm) Santa Claus will be making his pilgrimage from the North Pole to Montclair on Saturday, December 12th. He will begin his route around Montclair at 9:00am, starting at the MPOA office, and end around 1:00pm. (Times are approximate) Please see Santa’s route in the attachments. Holiday Home Decorating Contest Greetings from the Montclair Garden Club! This holiday season we will be judging the Annual Holiday Decorating Contest. The members of the Garden Club are delighted to see all of the decorating charisma that Montclair has to offer. Let your holiday spirit soar with yuletide glee! Call for Candidates – Deadline 1/11 Are you interested in how your community is run? Would you like to get involved and help continue to make Montclair the best it can be? Consider helping to shape the future of Montclair as a member of the Board of Directors. Montclair needs you! Four Precinct Representatives are needed to serve on the Board of Directors for a 3-year term to be elected at the Annual Meeting on Saturday, March 20, 2021. To be eligible you must be a member of the Association in good standing. To become a candidate and ensure your name is on the official ballot, please complete and submit the Call for Candidate form. Please answer the four questions on a separate sheet of paper. Submit a photo with the form online at communications@montclairva.com or to the MPOA office. This information will be published in the Annual Meeting packet, the Montclairion, montclairva.com and on MPOA Facebook Page. American Disposal Trash Services – Yard Debris During the heavier leaf and yard debris collection period, ADS will exercise the 10 bag/10-bundle rule, if needed. Personal cans may be used. However, they need to be marked “Yard Debris”. Tree limbs and brush must be no longer than 4-5 feet in length and 3 inches in diameter.
