MPOA Weekly Update: May 27, 2022
REC IDS ARE NOW DIGITAL!
Effective May 1, 2022. Recreation IDs went digital with the help of CellBadge’s mobile security badge system. This system will replace the Recreation IDs, which will no longer be valid.
Registration with Cell Badge will be required to access MPOA’S amenities and events.
1.) Create your account:
Please visit the online Cell Badge portal to complete an “Initial Add Request” with contact info for a primary residing Homeowner/Renter. This will be the name/address you will give at check-ins. Allow 3 business days for the approval/rejection process.
2.) Enter Household Info:
-Once accepted, return to the same page to sign in with your contact info and REQUEST A PIN.
-Enter any additional household members who reside at the address of the account.
-Upload a clear, recent, close-up photo for each requested household member by clicking the camera button next to their name.
If you set up your account and didn’t receive a confirmation email from recreation@montclairva.com, we may still be missing photos or documentation for your account.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND UPDATE: If you have not started your registration in Cell Badge by close of business on Friday, May 27th, a staff recreation supervisor will be available on Saturday and Monday at Dolphin Beach from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to assist in the registration process. Access to the facilities/amenities will not be accommodated without a valid Recreation Pass.

Memorial Day Office Hours
In observance of the upcoming holiday, the management office will be closed on Monday, May 30th. Should you require immediate assistance during the holiday or after regular business hours, please contact the 24/7 FirstService Customer Care Center at 703-385-1133. For follow up that can wait until the staff returns the next business day, you may e-mail the staff at info@montclairva.com.
Wild Life Update
Snakes: Reports of snakes have been observed at Dolphin Beach and West Beach along the shoreline. Please be on the alert as you and your family are enjoying the beach over the weekend.
Mosquitos: The Prince William County Mosquito and Forest Pest Management branch will be conducting inspections at various sites throughout the summer to help alleviate mosquito populations in areas where water is stagnant. A recent inspection of the boat racks at West Beach identified numerous kayaks overturned and holding a significant amount of water. Stagnant water allows mosquitos to breed and can be a health concern for residents. With the busy summer season quickly approaching, please remember to check your stored boats and make sure they are not collecting water. Goose Control: A biologist from USDA Wildlife will be onsite in early June to conduct a survey of the geese population in Montclair and will provide a report with recommendations to control the geese population around the lake.
Turf Application
The MPOA landscaper, Brightview Landscape Services and their subcontractor TruGreen, will apply the post emergent turf application throughout the common areas on Wednesday, June 1st. Signs will be posted in these areas the morning before as they will be closed for Memorial Day. Please stay off the grass for at least 1-2 hours after treatment.
Volunteers Needed
Community volunteers are vital to the success of MPOA events. We are seeking volunteers to help continue making enjoyable experiences for everyone who attends our events.

Committee Members Wanted!
The Communications, Covenants, and Signage Committees are looking for members to join. Here is a brief description of each committee:
Ad Hoc Signage Committee research, discuss, and will develop a plan to secure professional design options to replace current Montclair signs that are consistent in material, style, and theme, while also embodying the "Montclair Community." Signs for consideration are all entrance, beach, and event signs.
The Covenants Committee reviews Property Improvement Requests and assures that properties are maintained in a manner providing for visual harmony and soundness of repair, avoiding activities deleterious to the aesthetic or property values of the property, and promoting the general welfare and safety of the owners, their guests, and other invitees.
The Communications Committee provides creative and technical methods to enhance all avenues of communications between the Board of Directors and Members of the Association, as well as suggesting methods of facilitating information flow from sources outside of the Montclair community.

Annual Property Inspections (API):
First round of APIs have been completed. Thank you to all homeowners for your cooperation. Annual Dock inspections are scheduled for the second week of June. Follow up inspections on all covenants violations will continue throughout the year as needed.
For additional information for PIRs, and other items reviewed during covenants inspections, please refer to Article 5 of the MPOA Community Guidelines, as well as the MPOA Amended Deed of Declaration and Bylaws.
Updated Assessments - May 1, 2022 – April 30th, 2023:
The new budget has passed and assessments for the 2023 Fiscal Year (May 1, 2022 – April 30, 2023) will be $720 annually or $62/month if you choose to pay monthly ($60/month + $2 service fee).
If you have paid the annual assessments in full ($720.00), you may have noticed that only the monthly amount of $62.00 was deducted from your assessment account. Please note that Accounting Department will deduct the annual fees during the end of May/beginning of June and credit back the $2.00 service fee.

Henderson Husky 5k and Mile Fun Run
Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Henderson Elementary School – 3799 Waterway Drive.
This event is organized by the Henderson Elementary PTCO, a non-profit volunteer-based organization; 2022 is the 12th Annual Henderson Husky 5K and the first since 2019. Access to the following streets may be restricted during the course of the event and police officers will be stationed at these locations to help direct traffic accordingly:
Mile Course (from 8:00 am – 8:30 am): Henderson ES to Waterway Drive northbound (close one lane), left onto Golf Club Drive, turnaround at intersection with Ridgewood Court.
5k Course (from 8:30a – 10:00 am): Henderson ES to Waterway Drive Southbound (close one lane), right onto Avon Drive, left onto Fairway Drive, left onto Dolphin Drive, north on Golf Club Drive, left on Loganberry Lane, right onto Silvan Glen Drive, across Waterway to the start.

Beer on the Beach
Friday, June 17, 2022 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Dolphin Beach
Bring your own alcohol (cans only please, NO GLASS), chair or blanket, and enjoy yourself with friends and neighbors. Recommended for ages 21 and up. Personal grills are not allowed.
GLASS BOTTLES ARE PROHIBITED!
The beaches will close promptly at 9 p.m. No pets are allowed on the beaches during the summer season.

Summer Movie Night
Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Dolphin Beach. Event starts at Dusk and beach closes at the end of featured movie.
Bring your own snacks, drinks and chairs or blanket and enjoy this month’s featured movie Encanto. A snow cone vendor will be onsite at 7:30 p.m. with frozen cotton candy available for purchase.
The beach is open only for this event after dusk, other activities, such as swimming and basketball, will not be permitted.
