Please note that the February edition of the Montclairion includes two incorrect dates on page 9 for the Annual Meeting Notice. Please find the dates and their corrections below, "Are you eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting? Only Owners of Record in good standing are eligible to vote, and only one vote per lot may be cast on each issue. To be in good standing, any financial obligation to the Association must be paid by 5 p.m. on the Record Date, Wednesday, February 12, 2018." January 31, 2017 Special Board Meeting

There will be a Special Meeting of the Board of Directors on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 7:30 p.m., to be held at the MPOA Building. The purpose of this meeting will be the following; to appoint a Board Member to fill an At-Large vacancy, to discuss and approve the proposal from Shirley Contracting submitted in response to the invitation to bid on the Spillway Alteration Project, to review and approve the proposal from Froehling & Robertson for Project Oversight Services, to schedule a Town Hall Meeting for the Spillway Project, and to consider a reduced advertising rate to the Fire Department for ad space in the Montclairion. MPOA dues notification

Don’t forget, the last set of dues for the 2017/2018 season must be submitted to the MPOA office by check or money order by February 1, or made online by ClickPay. Any payment received after the February 10 will be considered late and subject to a late fee of $35.00. There will be no payments from March-April. Bushes - now available at MPOA

Has the warm weather gotten you in the spring spirit? If the answer is yes, then maybe you would like to make a few new additions to your garden. Starting today, residents are invited to swing by the MPOA office to pick up one or more bushes recently pulled from MPOA common area. Please stop around back near the maintenance bay and help yourself. First come, first served basis. The bushes will be offered to residents only until 8:00 a.m. Monday morning, January 29. Volunteer Appreciation Banquet – February 28

Have you volunteered for an event or been a part of a committee in the past year? Then we would love to recognize you! Join us for the annual Volunteer Banquet on Wednesday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. for a well-deserved pat on the back where we will honor all volunteers and give special recognition to one, exceptional resident who has gone above and beyond for the 2017 season. Coffee with the Candidates – February 24

Get to know your candidates before the upcoming Annual Meeting. This year, Coffee with the Candidates takes place at the MPOA office on Saturday, February 24 at 10:00 a.m. All residents who are interested in meeting their candidates are invited to come on out to enjoy a cup of coffee. Lake Reminders

Dear Montclair Residents, In light of the recent rescue effort involving a dog on the ice, as well as reports of people walking on the ice, we would like to remind you of how critical it is that you do not walk out on the ice in Lake Montclair. By engaging in this potentially life-threatening behavior, you are putting yourself at significant risk, as well as those who may have to rescue you. Please be conscious of your children and pets as well to ensure they do not walk on the ice. If your pet does wander on to the ice, please do not attempt to rescue the animal yourself. Trash Collection Notice

Due to the condition of many of the side streets, American Disposal has ceased trash collection for today. It simply is not safe for these large trucks to be navigating slick side roads as many of them are hilly and/or narrow. American has agreed to include trash collection in their service on Saturday, January 6th, and will be allocating additional trucks to ensure everything is collected. Please have your trash and recycling on the curb by 5:00 a.m. on Saturday to ensure it is collected. We are very appreciative of your continued patience and understanding as we contend with the challenges associated with the recent inclement weather.

New Covenants Committee Schedule for 2018

2018 is finally here, and a new year means a new schedule for Property Improvement Requests (PIRs) and Covenants Committee meetings. Please note that as of this year, the Covenants Committee will be meeting the second and fourth Thursday of every month instead of the first and third Tuesday. This will have an impact on PIR due dates, so make sure that you are aware of the new deadlines and meeting dates if you intend to make home improvements to your house this year.
