UPDATE: Meeting Location Change for Tonight’s Board of Directors Training/Orientation

Due to scheduling conflicts and availability, the location for this meeting has changed from in-person to virtual via Zoom. An e-mail blast was sent out with the new meeting login information.


Please note that the training/orientation portion of this meeting will be conducted in executive (closed) session where only members of the Board of Directors may attend. Shortly after the meeting is called to order, the Board will convene in executive session to begin orientation. Once completed, the meeting will reconvene with no further business to address and the Board will adjourn. REC IDS ARE GOING DIGITAL!


Effective May 1, 2022. Recreation IDs will be going digital with the help of Cell Badge’s mobile security badge system. This system will replace the Recreation IDs, which will no longer be valid.


Registration with Cell Badge will be required to access MPOA’S amenities and events.


1.) Create your account:

Visit: Montclair.cellbadge.com to complete an “Initial Add Request” with contact info for a primary residing Homeowner/Renter. This will be the name/address you will give at check-ins. Allow 3 business days for the approval/rejection process.


2.) Enter Household Info:

-Once accepted, return to the same page to sign in with your contact info and REQUEST A PIN.

-Enter any additional household members who reside at the address of the account.

-Upload a clear, recent, close-up photo for each requested household member by clicking the camera button next to their name

Reminders & Updates:

Annual Property Inspections (API):

First round of APIs are currently in progress with regular inspections occurring in each precinct simultaneously every business day, weather permitting. First rounds of inspections are scheduled to be completed by Memorial Day Weekend, May 27, 2022. With the warmer weather approaching, here are some common Spring cleaning items to consider:


· Clean dirt, debris, and mildew from siding, gutters, and soffits

· Paint condition of exterior, including siding, door/window trim, shutters, etc.

· Routine maintenance of lawn/landscaping

· Repair any maintenance issues with fences and driveways


Should you require making significant improvements or modifications, such as replacing fences, windows, doors, or repainting your home, etc. please submit a Property Improvement Request (PIR) form found on our website at www.montclairva.com under Forms & Documents and follow the instructions provided.


For additional information for PIRs, and other items reviewed during APIs, please refer to Article 5 of the MPOA Community Guidelines, as well as the MPOA Amended Deed of Declaration and Bylaws.

 

Updated Assessments - May 1, 2022 – April 30th, 2023:

The new budget has passed and assessments for the 2023 Fiscal Year (May 1, 2022 – April 30, 2023) will be $720 annually or $62/month if you choose to pay monthly ($60/month + $2 service fee).

 

Committee Members Wanted!

The Communications and Signage Committees are looking for members to join. Here is a brief description of each committee:

Ad Hoc Signage Committee research, discuss, and will develop a plan to secure professional design options to replace current Montclair signs that are consistent in material, style, and theme, while also embodying the "Montclair Community." Signs for consideration are all entrance, beach, and event signs.

The Communications Committee provides creative and technical methods to enhance all avenues of communications between the Board of Directors and Members of the Association, as well as suggesting methods of facilitating information flow from sources outside of the Montclair community.

Montclair Boat Auction

Saturday, April 4th – 15th, 2022

The MPOA will auction off all unclaimed or abandoned boats found on Lake Montclair or boats located in West Beach boat racks with expired or no registration stickers.

How to participate:

· Bids will be accepted beginning Monday, April 4th, 2022

· Boats that are available for bidding will be located in the West Beach parking lot and marked with a numbered sticker.

· Only bids from owners in good standing will be accepted

· Limit one bid per household

· Boat auction form is located at www.montclairva.com under “Forms and Documents” or available at the MPOA Office.

· Forms may be submitted in the following ways:

- In-person at the MPOA Office or the Black after hours dropbox

· All bids must be received no later than 5PM on Friday, April 15th.

· Winning bidders will be notified by Friday, April 25th.

The Expo: Q&A Presentation Booths

Come to Dolphin Beach to meet and inquire about local groups that help to keep Montclair beautiful. Representatives of groups such as these are anticipated:


-MPOA Landscape, Facilities and Maintenance Committee (LFMC)

plus Ad-hoc Signage Committee

-MPOA Lake Management Committee (LMC) -Keep Prince William Beautiful -Montclair Garden Club -Prince William County Waste Management

The Market: Locally Produced Goods

Visit the booths of vendors providing locally produced goods for sale at our exclusive neighborhood market!


The Mission: Operation Curbside Cleanup 2022

Operation Curbside Cleanup 2022 is presented in conjunction with this year's Montclair Beautification Day. We are encouraging all residents to participate in this community-wide effort from today through Montclair Beautification Day on April 30, to actively pick up and properly dispose of debris and trash that has accumulated along curbs within our community. This effort should, in turn, help keep our storm drains and local waterways cleaner and free-flowing.

Fishing Tournament 2022

Saturday, May 14, 2022 @ Dolphin Beach

Join us for the Annual Montclair Fishing Tournament, as we invite you to grab your rod & reel and put your skills to the test!

· Check-in: 6:30AM

· Tournament: 7:00 – 10:00AM

· Awards: 10:00AM

Compete in two leagues:

· Junior League – Teams of two ( 1 child & 1 adult)

· Individuals or Teams of two ( Adults only)

Lantern Launch

Saturday, May 21, 2022 | 7:30PM – 9:00PM @ Dolphin Beach

Join us, and launch a floating lantern to honor our Military or Reserve heroes who have served, or are currently serving.

Lanterns can be picked up at the MPOA Office during regular business hours, and will also be available at the event (while supplies last).
