Montclair Day-Volunteers still needed!

Montclair Day is almost here, but we still need your help to make it to the winner’s circle. Volunteers are essential for us to make these events the best they can be, and we would love for you to help us kick off a Day at the Races down at Dolphin Beach this Saturday, June 3, 2017. Interested volunteers may sign up here.

Street Closures for Montclair Day

Please be aware that the Spillway Lane and Dolphin Drive will be closed during Montclair Day, June 3, 2017. Residents who live on these streets will receive a parking pass that they must display within view on their vehicle to gain access to their street.

New Guideline changes to go into effect

Please be aware that new guideline changes will go into effect starting Thursday, June 1, 2017. These revisions are complete rewrites of the sections 5.4.36 (Shoreline Stabilization) and 5.4.8 (Docks, Piers, Wharves, and Shoreline Improvements). Get ready to run

Ready to kick off summer with a little challenge? So are we. The Montclair Triathlon is back, and it’s better than ever! Join us on June 18, 2017 bright and early in the morning to partake in one of the biggest events of the season. This year’s course will take contestants through the waters of lake Montclair, down the roads of our wonderful community, and through the streets of our neighborhood. Coming soon to a beach near you

The big screen is coming back to Dolphin Beach on June 24, 2017. Enjoy a showing of Sing beneath the stars while relaxing on one of Montclair’s most iconic beaches. Can Buster Moon keep his theater open by holding a singing contest? Join a cast of lovable animal characters and find out this Summer at Dolphin Beach! Recreation Photo ID’s will be checked at the gate, so don’t forget to update yours if you haven’t already!

Derby Day is almost here! Prepare for a Day at the Races at Dolphin Beach this Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 3-8:30 p.m. We’re kicking off summer with a day of derby-licious fun, and we have a lineup of fantastic entertainment just for you, Schedule of Events: 3:00 pm: Gates officially open 4:00 pm-6:00 pm: Grassland Bluegrass Band 6:30 pm-8:30 pm: Mutual Fun Band Entertainment: Caricatures Derby Racers Derby Hat Contest Carnival Games 2 and under Bounce House Water Slide Ticket Information: Tickets are 0.50 each! Office Closing Reminder

A brief reminder that the MPOA office will be closed on Monday, May 29, 2017 in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. Please note that emails will not be monitored while the office is closed. Pet Reminder-Memorial Day Weekend

Please note that pets will no longer be permitted onto recreation facilities after Memorial Day Weekend. For full information, please refer to Article 4, section 4.1.7 Pets: 4.1.7 Pets. Pets are not allowed at any MPOA recreation facility from the weekend preceding Memorial Day through the weekend following Labor Day. Pets are not permitted inside Kid’s Dominion at any time. Pets that are leashed may be placed immediately aboard boats launched at West Beach only. These restrictions do not apply to service animals or to pets crossing an area when walked by a person displaying a valid Montclair Recreation Photo ID. County “Pooper Scooper” law requires that you clean up after your pet.

Montclair Day: Help Still Wanted

Want to be a part of one of the biggest events of the season? We would love for you to join us down at the racetrack to ensure that this year’s Montclair Day finishes first as the best event all season. Volunteer responsibilities range from grilling food, to attending games, and even selling tickets in addition to much more. Interested volunteers may sign up here. Questions? Welcome Summer

Summer is finally here, and so is recreation season! We are all excited for the Montclair beaches to officially open, but before we all rush to grab our towels and flip-flops, we need to keep a few rules in mind to make sure we all have a safe and fun summer. Don’t forget that you’ll need an official Recreation Photo ID with the updated 2017 sticker. These passes will be checked at all three beaches and Kid’s Dominion. Residents who do not show an updated Recreation Photo ID will not be permitted onto the facilities. If you haven’t done so already, make sure that you obtain your updated sticker at the MPOA office. Derby Hat Contest

Time to put on your derby best for Montclair Day—literally. This year Montclair Day will feature a derby hat contest for the ladies and a derby attire contest for the gentlemen. So dig into your closet and find your most stately hat or your classiest tie and join us at Dolphin Beach on June 3, 2017. The winners will receive tickets to use during the event! Kick Back, and Relax

It’s finally back! Beer on the Beach will return this summer on June 16, 2017. Enjoy an evening at Dolphin with your friends and neighbors while relaxing to the music of up-and-coming artists. Don’t forget to bring your Recreation Photo ID and a valid Driver’s License before taking a load off and joining us at the beach. This is a BYOB event, so make sure to bring your drinks as well! Lantern Launch: This Saturday

Pay homage to our Armed Forces this Saturday, May 20, 2017 by launching a lantern from Dolphin Beach. This year’s launch will take place at 7:30 p.m. Residents are invited to come down to the beach at dusk to join their friends and neighbors in honoring our service men and women who have served, or who are currently serving. Lanterns are now available for pickup at the office, however, you are more than welcome to obtain a lantern and decorate it the day of the event. You will be required to show an updated Recreation Photo ID with 2017 stickers on it for this event. If you have not done so already, stop by the MPOA office to get yours today!

Celebrate Summer!

School is out for the summer once more! Celebrate the end of another fantastic academic year at the Teen and Pre-teen Beach parties at Dolphin Beach. All Montclair residents who are middle school and high school age are welcome to attend their respective celebrations. Don’t forget to bring your Recreation Photo ID to the event along with a student ID card/military ID and/or a permission slip, located here. Full details are below! Churchill Downs comes to Dolphin Beach on June 3, 2017 for Montclair Day. Put on your derby best and get ready for a day of celebration and fun. This year, enjoy the music of the Grassland Bluegrass Band and the Mutual Fun Band. Entertainment includes caricature artists, derby racers, a derby hat contest and much more. Don’t forget, update your Recreation Photo ID’s!

We want all of our Montclair residents to be able to enjoy the many amenities that our community has to offer, especially our wonderful parks and beaches. To make sure that you can, please don’t forget to stop by the MPOA office to pick up your 2017 Recreation Photo ID Renewal Sticker. 2016 stickers expired at the end of April, so you will need your renewal for the upcoming summer beach season.
