Lake Montclair Update: 188' Mark Reached
I am pleased to report that as of this writing, the level of the lake has surpassed the 188’ mark. In accordance with the Board’s March motion which closed the beaches and the lake until such time as the project was complete, and the lake returned to the 188’ level, the beaches and Lake Montclair are no longer closed. Spillway Alteration Project Update
The Spillway Alteration Project is complete. Our engineer is working on completing the final documentation to submit to the state that will certify we are now compliant with VA Dam Safety regulations. This morning, Shirley Contracting submitted to us a letter of final acceptance advising that all contract and punch list work has been completed as of today. Montclair’s Oktoberfest gives Munich’s Oktoberfest a run for its money! Come to Southlake Recreation Center and be surrounded by your friends and neighbors while sipping a delicious beverage, listening to music and enjoying the start of fall. The kiddos get to participate in the fun by playing harvest games, running through the hay maze and jumping the day away on the bounce houses. Boat, and Dock/Shoreline Improvement Registration
Cruise right into the MPOA office to register your boats, and dock/shoreline improvements beginning October 1. Due to the potential impact from Hurricane Florence this weekend we have decided to postpone Montclair History Day. An alternate date will be determined by the history committee and sent out in a future notification.
Inclement Weather Update
Dear Montclair Residents, The MPOA is monitoring the forecast and preparing for the potential to receive a large amount of rain resulting from Hurricane Florence. We have plan in place should the lake level return to normal pool and continue to rise. Conditions will be constantly monitored and evaluated throughout the event and MPOA Maintenance staff are prepared to address issues that may result from a rapid rise in the lake.
